Privacy policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

The short version. You can play every game without giving us anything at all. If you make an account, we ask for a username and a password — nothing else. No email address, no real name, no birthday. We show ads, and because this site is for children those ads are not personalised.

Grown-ups can also give us an email address to be told when a new game goes up. That list is optional, separate from accounts, and you can remove yourself from it in one click.

Cool Karate Games is run by [YOUR NAME OR BUSINESS NAME]. This policy explains what the site collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers coolkarategames.com and the games hosted on it.

This site is meant for children, so we have built it to collect as little as we possibly can. The safest information is the information we never ask for.

What we collect

If you just play games

Nothing that identifies you. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for one.

If you make an account

WhatWhy
A username you choose So the site can greet you and show you on the leaderboard. Pick a made-up name — it is not meant to be your real one.
A password So only you can get into your account. We store a scrambled version that cannot be turned back into your password, not the password itself.
Your XP total and the date you joined So your belt rank and leaderboard place carry over between visits.

An account never asks for an email address, a real name, a birthday, a phone number, an address, a photo, or a payment card. None of those can be entered when signing up, and no game asks for them either.

If you join the mailing list

There is one place on the site where an email address can be typed: the new-game mailing list at the bottom of the front page. It is separate from accounts — you can have either, both, or neither, and they are never linked to each other.

WhatWhy
Your email address So we can tell you when a new game goes up. That is the only thing it is ever used for.
The date you signed up and confirmed So we can show, if we are ever asked, that you agreed to be emailed.

The list is for adults. The form asks you to confirm you are 18 or over and that the address is your own — whether you are signing up for yourself or so you can pass news on to a child you look after. We do not knowingly put a child’s own address on the list.

We send a confirmation link first and add nobody until that link is clicked, so an address cannot be signed up by somebody else.

We do not sell, rent or share the list, and we never send anything but new-game announcements — no sponsored messages and no third-party advertising. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes the address rather than marking it inactive, so nothing is left behind.

Automatically, like every website

Our web server keeps a short log of requests: the IP address that asked for a page, the browser used, which page was requested, and when. This is ordinary server housekeeping — it is how we notice attacks, find broken pages and keep the site running. We do not use it to build a profile of anyone.

Cookies

A cookie is a small note a website leaves in your browser so it recognises you next time. We use as few as possible.

We do not use cookies to follow you around the internet, and we do not allow advertising cookies that build a profile for targeting. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the only effect here is that you will be signed out.

Advertising

This site is free because of advertising. Google serves those ads.

Because the site is directed to children, every ad request we send is tagged as child-directed. That tells Google to turn off personalised and interest-based advertising for this site. Ads are chosen from the page they sit on, not from anything about the person looking at it. We also ask Google to restrict how it processes data from our visitors.

Google may still use a basic identifier for things that keep advertising working at all — not showing the same ad twenty times, spotting click fraud, and counting how many times an ad was shown. Google’s own explanation of how it handles advertising data is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Other companies

We keep outside connections to a minimum. At present:

We do not sell anyone’s information, and we do not share it with anyone else. There is no analytics service, no social media tracking, no advertising network beyond Google, and no chat or messaging anywhere on the site.

The games themselves

Each game runs inside a sealed frame on the page. We deliberately withhold permission for games to store anything in your browser, so a game cannot remember you, save your progress between visits, or leave anything behind. It starts fresh every time, on purpose. Games cannot reach the rest of the page either.

How long we keep things

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, so even with our files in hand nobody could read them back. Account records are kept outside the public part of the server, where no web address can reach them. No site can promise perfect security, but we have tried to give ourselves as little to lose as possible.

Children

This site is directed to children, and children’s privacy has its own page: Children’s privacy. Parents should read that one — it explains your rights and how to use them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so on the site.
